Marjie & Henry Christopher first opened Rio Cibolo Ranch's doors to guests in 1987. Since that time, they have held countless weddings, special events & even large concerts featuring: George Straight, Selena, Dwight Yoakam & more! They put years of hard work & love into building Rio Cibolo Ranch, one of the best and most well known special event centers in Texas!
Continuing the Texas Hospitality Tradition
Son's acquired Rio Cibolo Ranch in 2023 and have since updated and remodeled the facilities as well as added Son's Rio Cibolo, a Cabin & Camping Retreat where guests at Rio Cibolo Ranch now have the option to stay the night. Son's is excited to have the opportunity to run such an amazing venue and offer it to their guests! We are deeply committed to continuing the wonderful & loving hospitality tradition Marjie & Henry Christopher started so many years ago!
Working Ranch
Longhorn Cattle
Rio Cibolo Ranch is a working longhorn cattle ranch! Guests at the ranch can view these majestic animals up close and can even feed them! Rio Cibolo Ranch (Cibolo being the Spanish word for buffalo) also has a buffalo named Bonnie as well as her Beefalo offspring, named Chip, who is 1/2 longhorn & 1/2 buffalo!
Pecan Orchards
The Pecan tree is the state tree of Texas. Our ranch is blessed with sprawling pecan trees across the entire property. Rio Cibolo Ranch grows and harvests 25,000 pounds of pecans each year!
Honey Bees
Rio Cibolo Ranch does its part to contribute to a healthy, natural environment by farming bees which add to the biodiversity of the ranch & earth by pollinating flowering trees & plants. Rio Cibolo Ranch's wonderful Pecan honey gets it's flavor from the flowering Pecan trees on the ranch. Don't worry, the bees are kept in far back corner of the ranch, they keep hard at work and don't bother our guests.

Cibolo Creek
Rio Cibolo Ranch has 2 miles of gorgeous, spring-fed creek water frontage that runs throughout the property.
Kayaking & Paddleboarding
We include kayaking and paddleboarding with a stay at Son's Rio Cibolo. This is the perfect way to enjoy this beautiful creek!
